Registering For Classes
I've heard nothing but bad things about registering for classes this semester. I got lucky in that I'm in the honors program so I got to register early (last Thursday) but I've heard a lot of people complaining about scheduling. I even know some physical education majors that aren't in any phys ed classes because they were all filled up. How can the university expect students to finish up their majors in fours years or so when students can't even register for classes in their major? That's just ridiculous. I think the university needs to rethink the registering process or do something so students can take classes towards completing their major.

The registering process here is a joke. I've been having touble scheduling since freshman year. It seems like Slippery Rock is more interested in taking my money than helping me obtain my degree.
ReplyDeleteKyli am one of the students that is having trouble getting registered for classes. I comute to Slippery Rock two days a week. With that being said getting classes scheduled is hard enough. I had to wait till monday to register. Somthing needs to be done with this isue.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I got lucky too and was able to get most of the classes that I want and need. But i transferred here and none of my credits counted for anything but liberal studies. So I have a lot of catching up to do, and it is near impossible when classes close up so quickly. I don't understand the registering process. Dr. Cleary gave a talk about it the other day saying that the registering process is good, we just dont understand it- the professors do though, and we should just trust them and not tell them how to do their job. Not sure how much faith I put into that, but o well. It is what it is.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with this. After a lot of my friends were done scheduling, they had about 9 credits, some even less. All the classes filled up so fast that no one could get into them. I was lucky enough to schedule last thursday because of track but was sorry to see all of my friends couldn't get into the classes I had picked because by the time the scheduled they were all taken. Hopefully the scheduling process will start to get better soon.
